About Semana
For one week, a whole city treats specialty coffee as what it is: an industry with producers, crafts, geography and people — not a menu category.
Semana de Café de Especialidad started in 2025 with eleven cafés in Roma and Condesa and a map printed on a folded sheet. The idea was simple and hasn't changed: for seven days the whole city works as a single venue, and Mexican coffee takes the place usually given to imported coffee.
There is no convention hall. There are no booths. Nobody charges admission to a city. What there is: a curated program of cafés, roasteries, producers and educators opening something specific during those days, and a printed guide telling you where to go.
Every edition is dedicated to one Mexican producing region. The 2027 region is already chosen, and gets named closer to the week.

How we work

Producers first
Lots carry the name of whoever grew them, and producers come to pour their own coffee.

Cafés pay for it, you don't
You get in with a proposal, and taking part has a fee. Walking the week costs nothing. The fee pays for production, promotion, bringing producers to the city and, we hope, work in the field later.

The city is the venue
No convention halls. The value is in walking neighborhoods you didn't know.

Print matters
The Field Guide is an object you keep, not a flyer you throw away.

For everyone
It works the same for someone who's been cupping for ten years and someone who just wants a good coffee nearby.
